Concordia to offer Local medicinal herb workshops in December

Concordia Eco-Resort will offer two medicinal herb workshops in its pavilion on December 4 and 18 at 5:30 p.m. Guests will learn about medicinal herbs native to the Virgin Islands and their uses. The presenter, Ital, will demonstrate traditional hand crafts that have been passed down to him through generations. His handmade items will also be for sale. Friends of the VI National Park announces Seminar Series schedule

The ever-popular Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park Seminar Series schedule is now available. Attending seminars is a great way to support the Virgin Islands National Park while enjoying the abundance of resources it has to offer. Highlights from this year’s schedule include kayak and boat tours of historic Hassel Island, hikes of the ever-popular L’Esperance trail led by VINP Superintendent Brion Fitzgerald, a trip through history with park Archaeologist Ken Wild as you explore the north shore by boat on Archaeology by Sea and a bird watching tour with Ranger Laurel Brannick on Birds of the Park. The Buccaneer Coral Reef Swim a major success

On November 8th, an enthusiastic 168 swimmers took to the ocean off St. Croix to compete in the 20th Annual Coral Reef Swim, hosted by The Buccaneer. Swimmers of all abilities gathered from as far away as Denmark and Alaska to race in glorious tropical weather in one of three distances: five miles, three miles or one mile, all ending at the resort. Welcomed ashore and over the finish line by hundreds of supporters, swimmers and a myriad of volunteers were treated to steel pan music and massages on Mermaid Beach. Arc Vodka distills craft vodka on St. Thomas

Local Virgin Islanders have begun distilling local vodka on St. Thomas’s Back Street under the company name Arc Vodka, LLC. The vodka is handcrafted and bottled on the island, using the freshest sourced ingredients in the region. Follow Arc on Instagram at @arc_vodka.
